Kyabram got an early lead in the first quarter resulting in a chase all day.

Unfortunately, the girls couldn’t catch up although there were some swift movements of play.

Ivy Watson stood up in the attacking end with strong centre pass leads and goaling well when thrown into the ring.

Sophie Butterworth followed suit with adaptability by being thrown to both ends.

Matilda Barry also showed her strength in the defensive end.

Seymour got off to a great start in their game against Kyabram. The team faced a strong defensive side in Kyabram, not making it east for Seymour to score.

Ella Zotti, Taylah Mason and Ella Reynolds were fabulous in the midcourt, driving forward and creating space for goalers.

Sophie Munro and Paige Cooper showed their expertise in defence, snagging some handy turn-overs.

Chloe Butterworth, Grace Le Deux and Sophie Allen worked tirelessly, creating wonderful goals.

A great game to watch!

The Lions ended up with a comfortable win after getting out of the blocks quickly against Kyabram.

Ashlyn Webster provided a strong presence on the court with great pressure and talk within the defensive end to direct the play.

Mia Allen shot accurately over the course of the day, supported by Shona Gesler’s presence in the ring, constantly presenting as a strong option.

Toni Bootland continued her great first season at The Den with pressure on the centre pass and important intercepts.

Mariah Baumann was best on court, constantly feeding the ball into the ring.

From the outset the Lions played structured netball to put together a fantastic win.

Renee Sari provided great direction alongside Lyndel Feery in the ring.

Both Lucy Zotti and Andy McKenzie made life easy for team mates across the court with their precision passing.

Strong defence from Bridie Cantwell throughout the game was a feature of a very good win from the Lions.

Beer Auto Group Seymour A GRADE

The A Grade made it two wins on the trot with a dominant display against Kyabram.

Sarah Szczykulski held down the defensive end, racking up the intercepts and providing drive for the benefit of the midcourt players.

Eleisha Saunders played her best game yet in her first season at The Den, providing a crucial link between defence and attack.

Courtney Aldous showed her versatility again, playing multiple positions and being a consistent presence across the court.

A strong fourth quarter game from the Lions was crucial to coming away with the points before heading off to Mooroopna this Saturday.

The Seymour Football Netball Club (SFNC) will celebrate a significant milestone this weekend, with Senior Co-Coach and Captain Jack Murphy set to play his 150th senior game for the Lions. Since making his senior debut in 2015, Murphy has established himself as one of the premier players in the Goulburn Valley League. Over the past decade, Murphy has built an outstanding football resume. A dual Senior Best & Fairest winner, GVL Interleague representative, League MVP and former Coburg VFL player, he has consistently performed at an elite level while representing the Lions with distinction. While his individual achievements are impressive, Murphy's influence extends far beyond the football field. Renowned for his professionalism, work ethic and commitment to the club, he has played a significant role in driving standards and helping develop the next generation of Lions players. Now serving as Senior Co-Coach, Murphy continues to lead from the front each week and remains one of the competition's most influential midfielders. SFNC President Peter Elliott said Murphy's contribution to the Lions over the past 11 seasons has been remarkable. “Murph has been an outstanding servant of our football club and thoroughly deserves this recognition,” Mr Elliott said. “His achievements on the field are exceptional, but it's the way he goes about it that sets him apart. “He's one of the hardest workers at the club, a fantastic leader and someone who is so passionate about the success of the Seymour Lions. “He's represented our club with distinction throughout his career and continues to set the standard both as a player and coach. “To reach 150 senior games is a fantastic achievement and one that both Murph and everyone associated with the club should be proud of. “We're incredibly fortunate to have had Murph at Seymour for so long and look forward to seeing him continue to make an impact in the years ahead.”
